Meet Jasmine! She’s literally been my little therapy cat over this past month or so! I have a feeling I’m her human, not she my cat! I sat there one day thinking I need something to help me, to cuddle and to nurture! Suddenly this idea of getting a cat came into my head! I’m not a big fan of cats what so ever! The lady that runs the sanctuary told me about this cat she had that has sadly come back to her twice already! As we walked through she had some stunning little cats! But as I looked over I noticed these eyes! Bright and beautiful! I knew she was mine! And low and behold it was the cat she was taking me to! You see she doesn’t get along with other cats and needs a lot of attention! But like me with people really! She’s stunning she has this mane that’s so soft and fluffy! She is jet black apart from in places that hit the light, where she has red tones in her fur! Under her belly she had a lovely grey to her! As soon as she came home with me it was like she had always been with me!
She lets me know when she wants something. She wakes me up at all hours, nibbling my nose, lying on my back purring into my ear until I wake up and feed her! Sometimes it’s because she wants treats! Once caught her after she’s had opened the cupboard door, and ripped open her treat pack!
She has helped me in an unbelievably beneficial way. She bites my phone when she wants my attention. She shows me love and attention and she relies on me! In a weird way she was meant for me and I for her!
I call her my therapy cat for a good reason! She has helped me so much! Me being her human has allowed me to care for something when my kiddies are not here. She’s given me routine. She has given me hope and a reason to actually feel alive again.
We all need that something then anchors us. And a year ago I’d have laughed at it being a cat that’s contributed to this!
